Is it an approved institution ?

PIMS is approved by the Medical Council Of India, Govt of India, and is affiliated to the NTR University of Medical & Health Sciences, Andhra Pradesh.

Classes for the 1st batch of MBBS students commenced in August, 2002.

Each batch consists of 150 students.

It is located on Nagunuru road, Karimnagar town, Karimnagar District, Andhra Pradesh.

It is around 160 kms., from Hyderabad.

The road to Karimnagar from Hyderabad, the Rajiv Rahadari, is an excellent highway and offers the most options for travelling to PIMS. State Transport buses ply almost every 15 minutes from Jubilee Bus Station, Secunderabad.
Travel by car/taxi is also another option.

It occupies an area of 28 acres.

The Medical College, the Hospital, the Hostels for the students, the Living quarters of the Faculty and the Staff, the Nursing College and other institutions are all located in the PIMS campus.

It is cool in winters and very warm in summers.

Calm, undisturbed and trouble-free.

Naxal activism is confined to isolated pockets in remote areas of the district Actual incidents of violence/disturbance in Karimnagar City itself and its neighbourhood have been very rare. Naxal activism is never directed against the common man and does not affect the normal life of students, or citizens from other walks of life who are not associated with politics.
There are a number of good schools in Karimnagar offering the options of learning in Central & State Syllabi.
It is a 550 bed (being upgraded to 750 beds) hospital.
Around 70%. PIMS hopes that the occupancy would go up dramatically as a result of certain welfare and outreach Programs it has launched recently.

PIMS also offers : Pulmonary Function Tests, Cath Lab facilities, CoronaryAngiograms, PBMV, Pacemaker Implantation/PTCA etc.,

Other equipment available at PIMS : EEG, Laparoscope, C-arm,Colonoscope, Endoscope, Treadmill, 2D Echo and ECG etc.,

Free Accomodation on campus in semi-furnished apartments. For the Faculty,PIMS offers two and three bedroomed, drawing, dining accomodation (in area, 1000 and 1250 sq.ft. approximately) in buildings designated for them. Single accommodation Units are also coming up.
PIMS extends Free Medical Care & Treatment services (exclusive of medicines & consumables) to all its Employees (Faculty & Staff), their families and dependent parents. It offers free transport (exclusive of actual fuel charges) for all schoolgoing children living on campus. It also offers free transport (in buses), twice a week, to the market.
PIMS offers all the everyday conveniences that one requires for hassle-free living : a Bank, an ATM, a Temple, clean drinking water (PIMS has its own mineral water plant), an auditorium (coming up), a gymnasium, indoor/outdoor sports facilities etc.,
